About Explainable Minesweeper
Explainable Minesweeper keeps the classic rules but removes the part most players hate. In ordinary Minesweeper you sometimes reach a spot where two cells are equally likely to hide a mine and you simply have to gamble. These boards are built so that never happens: there is always a cell you can prove is safe. When you are stuck, the Hint button does more than point at a square; it walks you through why that cell must be safe or must be a mine, which makes it a good way to learn the deductions experienced players use. Boards come in nine sizes from 5×5 up to 13×13, each with 200 puzzles, so you can start small and work up to larger grids at your own pace.
Explainable Minesweeper FAQ
Is Minesweeper luck or logic?
In classic Minesweeper some positions force a 50/50 guess. Explainable Minesweeper only uses boards that can be solved by logic, so there is always a safe cell you can work out.
What does the Hint button do?
It points to a cell that can be deduced and explains the reasoning step by step, so you learn the pattern instead of just getting the answer.
How many puzzles are there?
There are nine board sizes, from 5×5 to 13×13, and each size has 200 puzzles.
