About Classic Checkers: Forest
Classic Checkers: Forest plays by the traditional rules of checkers — diagonal moves, mandatory jumps, and crowning a piece into a king once it reaches the far row — set against a forest-themed board and piece design. The strategy is exactly what checkers has always rewarded: control the center of the board, avoid leaving a piece exposed to a jump, and look two or three moves ahead before committing to a capture that might open you up in return. Getting a piece crowned changes the balance of the game noticeably, since a king can move and capture in both directions, so protecting your advancing pieces on the way to the far row matters as much as the captures themselves. The forest visual theme does not alter any rule, but it gives a well-worn game a fresh coat of paint.
