About Dots - duel
Dots - duel turns simple dot-connecting into a competitive territory grab: draw lines between dots to claim squares of the grid, and try to end up controlling more territory than your rival by the time the whole board fills in. Every line you draw is also information for your opponent, since a nearly completed square you leave unclaimed can be finished off by them on their very next turn instead of yours. Because claiming a square usually earns you another turn, setting up a chain of several nearly complete squares at once can let you sweep through multiple claims in a row if your opponent cannot interrupt it in time. Reading the board for which unclaimed squares are actually safe to leave for later, versus which ones are about to hand your rival free territory, is the real strategic tension underneath the game's simple line-drawing rules.
