Impossible 10

Impossible 10 is a number merge puzzle from MathNook: join groups of matching tiles to make bigger numbers and try to build a 10 before no moves are left.

Falls under: Puzzles, Math Games — this game trains spatial reasoning and puzzle-solving, calculation and number sense.

How to play Impossible 10

  1. Find two or more touching blocks that show the same number.
  2. Tap the group once to select it.
  3. Tap it again to merge the blocks into a higher number.
  4. Keep merging until you make a 10, without running out of matches.

About Impossible 10

Impossible 10 looks simple but gets harder with every merge. The board is covered in numbered blocks, and any group of two or more matching blocks that touch each other can be combined into one. Tap a group once to select it and tap again to merge it, and the result is a single, larger number. Your goal is to push that climb all the way to a single 10. The trouble is that each merge changes the board around it, and if no two neighbors share a number anymore, the game is over. Thinking about which group to merge first, rather than grabbing the nearest match, is the key to reaching ten.
