Imposter Sort gathers a crowd of near-identical lookalike characters on screen and asks you to pick out the one genuine impostor hiding among them, based on some small visual detail that sets it apart from the rest. Because the crowd is deliberately built from repeating, similar-looking characters rather than random clutter, a fast glance across the group is rarely enough to catch the one subtle difference — color shade, accessory, expression — that actually marks the odd one out. Scanning the crowd in smaller sections rather than trying to take in the whole group at once tends to make a genuine anomaly easier to notice, since your attention is not spread as thin across so many similar characters simultaneously. As crowds grow larger and the impostor's distinguishing detail gets subtler, the game rewards patient, close comparison over a quick surface-level scan.
