About Klondike: Classic Solitaire
Klondike: Classic Solitaire is the patience game most people simply call solitaire. Four foundation piles wait at the top, and the aim is to fill each one with a single suit, starting from the ace and ending with the king. On the table, cards stack downward in alternating colors, so a black five can go on a red six, and whole runs can be dragged from column to column. Only a king, or a run headed by a king, can fill an empty column. There is no timer and no move limit, hints and undo are there when you need them, and once every card is face up the game finishes itself. The felt, the card backs and the deck design can all be restyled too.
Klondike: Classic Solitaire FAQ
Is Klondike the same as regular solitaire?
Yes. Klondike is the game most people simply call solitaire: seven columns on the table and four foundation piles to build from ace to king.
What are the rules of Klondike Solitaire?
Build each foundation pile in one suit from ace up to king. On the table, stack cards downward in alternating red and black, and fill an empty column only with a king or a run that starts with a king.
Is Klondike always winnable?
No. Some deals cannot be won even with perfect play. Turning over face-down cards early, especially in the longest columns, gives you the most options.
Is there a timer or move limit?
No. You can play at your own pace, and hints and undo are available when you get stuck.
