Mahjong Slide & Merge

Mahjong Slide & Merge combines traditional tile-matching with a merge mechanic: instead of simply clearing two identical tiles, you slide them together so they merge and combine, working through a board that keeps tightening as the round progresses. Because a merge only works between two genuinely matching tiles, managing the board so pairs can actually reach each other matters more than sliding tiles wherever happens to be convenient. As the board shrinks, planning merges toward the center rather than pushing tiles out toward edges that will disappear soon keeps more of the board usable for longer. Its blend of mahjong-style matching and merge-chain mechanics gives a familiar tile format a genuinely different rhythm than a standard layered mahjong solitaire.
